The Pikas – Banjarnegara
- The story
The day was so good. Banjarnegara’s Tourism Department invited some bloggers to join them in an event called Famtrip Rafting at Pikas Resort, Banjarnegara. 8 bloggers came to join the event. Not only bloggers from Banjarnegara but also people from outside the city. I met travel blogger, he is Hendi and his blog is Ndayeng. The resort is popular place in Banjarnegara. We can do sports, outdoor activities, or even eat on the river side of serayu. Time showed that we ready to our plan. We headed to Boja village to start the rafting. It was totally free and I’d say thanks to Banjarnegara’s Tourism Department for the invitation. We went to Boja by angkot (public transport) after got some instructions and set the equipments. We separated to 2 teams and each team leaded by one instructor from Pikas.
I got the blue boat and was ready for rafting. The distance of Boja and Pikas is about 14 KM and took 2 hours (I’m not sure about these). Serayu river is the biggest river in my city and some time ago international rafting championship also held here twice. I sat on the front as the advice from Hendi who has experience on rafting. It is totally safe. The instructors are experienced on rafting and ready to help you. Serayu will give you some surprises with the stone. We fought with the stream and try to deny the stone. Unlucky for us, on the middle we stuck by a big stone and our boat flip when tried to move. All of team sunk but it was really fun and unforgetable. Sometimes if you face the great stream you need to sit on the floor and put your paddle stand so no one will hurt. Hitting a stone is a must, really fascinating. The scene is great too. You can see people do activity on the river side like fishing or even swimming and try to reach your boat. Mendoan (traditional food) and coconut are waiting you on the stop area. It was my first experience because the price is not friendly with my wallet but yeah, I really love it 😀 I would recommend you to come to my city and especially visit The Pikas.
