Mt. Sikudi – 2237 meters above sea level
Kejajar – Wonosobo City – Central Java Province : Indonesia
- Story of Sikudi
Located in Kreo – Kejajar, Sikudi’s top is lower than Sikunir, Prau, or Pakuwaja. The origin name of Sikudi is from Kudi, traditional tool which has a sharp side with a bigger side on the tail. We can see Sikunir and Pakuwaja from the top. If you have a lot of time you can visit Menjer Lake which isn’t so far from the basecamp, and actually I decided to visited it but my friend didn’t want to.
- The Journey
Based on the plan, we had 8 members and we made 2 sessions of departure (the first team gonna registered and wait the second because some of us still working on that day). On the last day, one of us who lead the first session said that he can’t join with us because an important reason. Afterward, we just made 1 session and started from our city about 4 pm. Everything was clear and we arrived at 6 pm as same as schedule. Our leader for this journey was Elang and he registered us on basecamp, made sure for everything, and prepared the teammates. We started hiking at 6.30 pm with a clear sky and half moon. The flashlight was important thing when hiking in the night, we made line which the odds turn on the light and the even turn off it for save the batteries. The track is more difficult than Pakuwaja or Prau in my opinion, it has high grass, and sometimes the branches cross along the way. We got the top at 9 pm and the camp ground just to small for us. There are a wide area for camp but we though that’s not good and too much far from top. As usually we cooked something, ate the snacks, drink hot coffee and got nice dream.
Something made me wake up and my friend checked all of our stuff, unlucky we lost 3 bottles of water, maybe someone stealed it when we slept. We walked to the top (2 of us stayed on tent because they just want to drink coffee) and took some photos. The view surprised me, I can see Sikunir and “the nail” of Pakuwaja. The sunrise wasn’t as good as else like Prau or Pakuwaja, but I recommended this place for you, the serenity seeker.
